Hi, my name is Favio,

Multidisciplinary Developer & HPC Systems Administrator

About Me

I tried explaining my job to my family once. Now they just nod politely and ask if I’m still doing ‘computer stuff.’

The Journey So Far

With 8 years under my belt as a software developer, I’ve dabbled in just about everything—mobile apps, web platforms, and backend systems. If it involves code and a challenge, I’m all in. Whether it’s crafting user-friendly interfaces or ensuring the backend runs like a well-oiled machine, I’m passionate about bringing ideas to life through technology.

For the past decade, I’ve also been deeply immersed in the world of High-Performance Computing (HPC). I’ve designed, administered, and facilitated HPC infrastructure for industries ranging from oceanography to academia and pharmaceuticals. My work has supported cutting-edge research, helping industries and scientists push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Projects That Matter

My professional journey has taken me into the heart of scientific data management. I’ve worked on projects for government agencies and research institutes, focusing on real-time data management of ocean observations and standardizing data for remote access and visualization. I’m particularly proud of my contributions to open-source Python libraries, which help drive innovation in the community.

The Balance

When I’m not knee-deep in code or setting up HPC environments, you’ll probably find me running, boxing, or spending quality time with my family. I believe in keeping things balanced—staying physically active keeps my mind sharp for the challenges of my work.

Looking Ahead

I’m always excited about new technologies and open to taking on projects, especially those involving HPC and ocean data management for distribution and visualization. If you’ve got a challenging project that needs a mix of experience, enthusiasm, and a dash of humor, let’s connect!
